I actually have an 1140W solar power array, an Outback VFX1228 inverter, a Morningstar 60A controller and a bank of 6 Sam’s Club golf trolley batteries. In the spring and early summer the device was able to effortlessly take care of my evaporative chiller but this time that it is warmer I’ve been needing to change the cooler back over to grid power at 5 or 6 PM in order to not empty the batteries right away. I believed that I could resolve this issue by plugging in the charger side of the inverter,but I finally realize that all I’m carrying out is activating the transfer change and giving the grid power in the inverter which is not helpful and does not utilize the solar energy. Can any person know if the VFX inverter could be programmed to activate the transfer switch as well as the battery charger only if the power supply degree gets low? Any other clues are welcome. The VFX users handbook that I need will not make any reference to HBX approach but I did some research and found it within the Mate handbook. I assume I am going to have to buy a Mate. My VFX is 9 years old (I bought it used with no facts). Do you know if all Mates are in reverse suitable for more aged inverters? Exactly where would you suggest to purchase one?
Many evaporate chillers may have a pump mode where water circulated, however the air mover stays off. Very beneficial if chiller provides wind blowing into it, and a window opened on opposite side of home. You can even use a tiny container fan or window fan too. Box and window fans won’t move the same quantity of air, yet might be adequate for night cooling. Much less load on inverter. I set up a *very* little vane pump (utilized small motor gasoline pump) in mine, and used a blower cell made up of 6 12v computer power source type of blowers. Solar panel was stuck to front of cooler yield vents. Effective, extremely quiet, no good if you want the white sound in the evening. Of course, wasn’t effective in keeping track of heating load during the day, then the fan panel was taken out (love Velcro!) and ran on 120v pump and blower generator.
